At first glance Brian Paul Sanders appears to look like a potential NBA bound point guard, but this NYC personal trainer has fans clamoring for something else than his killer biceps. The alternative R&B artist that goes by the name BPS (Beats Per Second) just rocked the house in South Beach, FL at Madiba Lounge and the ladies are dicing for his autograph. The indie artist isn't waiting for a major label to discover his unparalleled gift in order to gain exposure. As the CEO/ Founder of Underdawg Entertainment and For The Love of Music Publishing, BPS has written, arranged, published and performed over 30 songs in the past few years truly platforming his ability as a rapper, singer and general entertainer. The lead song on the soundtrack for the movie "Cloud 9", Bad Mutha$%^&*(Bad MF), was picked up by Graymark Productions Film starring Burt Reynolds and DL Hughley, has BPS's stamp all over it. He also just sold several songs to Telepictures Productions for their shows i.e. Blind Date, 5th Wheel etc. including "U Can't C", "Fresh", "Bad MF". Reared in a single parent home in South Central, LA his mother made attending church a requirement for the children. BPS would do what most young people in church do - he joined the choir. Singing in church would open up doors for him to become a recognized performer. Humble and genuine on and off stage, BPS is versatile, and shatters the myths of west coast east coast hip-hop artist who are more interested in jewels from Jacob than perfecting their craft. His philosophy on music is evident in the song "For the Love of Music". For the love of music, why do you abuse it/ if you got passion, use it/for the love of music. Faces Incorporated was so enamored by BPS and his showmanship that they sought his sound for fusing genres on their compilation "Faces Inc". BPS describes his style as "street soul". Amassing an incredible buzz with his live stage show featuring a guitarist, bass, drums, DJ, and back-up vocalist he has taken his show cross country from NY to LA to Atlanta to Miami. The sonic backdrops of his production team fuses inspirations from rock, hip-hop, soul, and funk to release a sound that rocks the underground circuit. Looking to lyricism and charisma of artist like Stevie Wonder, Lauren Hill, Rakim, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Bill Withers as inspiration BPS is on a restless pursuit for matching the success of those he admires. With a noticeable increase in popularity for cross genres music groups like Black Eyed Peas, and The Roots, BPS is confident that in time his songs will be in heavy rotation.
