About Me
Biography
Hatrick exploded onto the Jacksonville music scene in the summer of 1996 after going through several band names, bass players, and drummers. Jeremy Baker, Jordan McDowell, Brad Moxey, and Randy Karriker were the founding fathers. The band added a second guitar player, Mason Romiane, in 1998 after his band, Modern Amusement, broke up. This line-up recorded Hatricks first album entitled, "The Place You Call Home," which was released in February of 1999. In the fall of 1999, Randy departed and Brad soon followed leaving the band with an opening for a guitar player and a drummer. Scott Shad, a good friend of the band, and drummer for Inspection 12, filled the guitar vacancy and J.P Prieto took over on drums. This line-up lasted until the untimely death of Scott Shad on March 6, 2001 . After Scott’s death the band didn’t know if they could keep going on without him. They eventually decided to continue playing knowing that is what Scott would want. The four-piece released their second album in 2002, a five song EP entitled, “Don’t Worry About It.†A few months after the second album release the band added a second guitar player, Joey Ball. The five-piece played a few shows with Joey, but at that point they really weren’t able to do much because JP and Mason were attending college out of the city. This is why Jordan decided to call it quits in the spring of 2003. It seemed like the end of an amazing seven year run having the opportunity to play with the likes of No Use For A Name, Home Grown, Less than Jake, and Pivit, while making good friends with bands like Inspection 12 and Yellowcard. A year later, in the summer of 2004, Jordan, Jeremy, and Joey added a new drummer, Mitch Dyer and together they brought Hatrick back to life. In April of 2005 Hatrick added a fifth member, Willy Frasier, to play guitar after his band Evolemo broke up.
