I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm just loving living in the great city of Austin and bumping into old friends from high school and college on here.I live with my 12 year old son, Triston and my two doggies, Major and Angel. Sometimes I'm not sure what is more difficult....raising a pre-teen or a Jack Russell Terrier! ha haI opened a business years ago doing something I love (finding jobs for people....changing people's lives)and have been teaching others to do it too. My team is a fabulous group of gals who have bought into my crazy idea of changing healthcare one placement at a time! I thank my lucky stars every day that they are in my life. I believe people should be fulfilled in what they do for a living and I am blessed that I have a talent in this area.

My Interests

Triathlons, wakeboarding, mountain and road biking, trying to be interested in swimming but still can't breathe!, fast cars and subsequently, fast ways to talk yourself out of tickets, networking

I'd like to meet:

Old friends from grade, middle and high school as well as college that I haven't heard from in decades! Anyone in healthcare wanting to explore new job opps, especially in TX, but I can help the 'outsiders' too! he he Anyone who is interested in recruiting or wants to know more...even if you are starting your own biz.

Music:

Everything! Pop, country, rock, hits from the 80z, light hip hop, jazz, contemporary Christian. I'm still a closet headbanger which would probably surpise most people because I can come across as pretty conservative. Yes...the rumor is true...I did go to the Blue October concert. Yes...they are great live!

Movies:

Oh...where to start? This might scare some poeple but I LOVE movies about serial killers (especially based on true stories) I'm a bit addicted to the psychological aspects of the serial killer's mind. I hope that doesn't say anything about me! EEK I love the old movies from the 80s - Bueller, All the old Brat Packers - 16 candles, St. Elmos Fire, etc etc etc -, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing (I'm such a GIRL!), All the Rocky's, Blazing Saddles, The Gods Must Be Crazy is the best!. Great Latest movies I've seen - 40 year old virgin, Wedding Crashers, Raising Helen, Crash. Update...New Faves - Jack Ass (that was just CRAZY...I laughed so hard I had a coughing fit and couldn't stop!) and Borat (as politically incorrect as it might be). I used to LOVE watching really scary movies...but something has happened in the past year or so and I don't enjoy them anymore....I like can't sleep for days!

Television:

I rarely watch TV shows....but when I do, the dial is usually on discovery or some other learning channel. Update - I did get into Lost last year...upset that there are so many more seasons before "The End."

Books:

I'm reading too many biz books right now....they would bore anyone! When I read for fun, it's usually a mystery or suspence. Other than that...I'm always reading something on business, leadership or self improvement

Heroes:

Chrystal for being as good a recruiter as I am! My daddy for always being a good listener and shoulder to cry on. My momma for being such a great example of how to be a strong woman. Jesus for dying for my sins (believe me...that's a LOT!)

My Blog

Lives Cut Short

I've never known anyone who took their own life until two years ago.  Since that time, I have lost three people in my life (extended family and an ex-boyfriend) to suicide and/or drug overdoses.&...

Baylor SCARED ME!

I have never felt so sick as sitting through the first quarter of the UT game this week.  Now...don't get me wrong.  I went to Baylor back in 1992-3, so I love the bears....BUT....they were ...
