Ashanti was started in 1968 by Tom Flowers aka Fingers. He loved the dancehall vibe & culture, so he strarted building a sound system in his bedroom. In the 70's & 80's the group was formed with Fingers da Governor, Inspector Reuben, Billy da Kid, Y-T & Teacher don. They dominated the Reggae scene in ipswich along side an Ipswich reggae band Roots Warriors. It was then passed down to the next generation in the late 90's, we carried on the original sound name hoping to take the name & the business to a higher level, we started playing in house parties,pubs & clubs in Ipswich but then ventured out of town to places like London, Nottingham, Birmingham, Luton & Hitchin playing in clubs & carnivals but always had a big interest in the production side of the music business. Y-T one of the Ashanti veterans encouraged me to invest in some studio equipment, I first started out making dancehall remixes to combine dancehall vibes with hip hop styles to play in the clubs but then started on my own production.have a listen to some of the tracks & add me in so you can check out the yard
