Anything by Dean Koontz is AMAZING!!! Best writer ever! Also the Harry Potter series, Shhhhhhhhhakespeare, Terry Pratchett books, JRR Tolkien, the Lemony Snicket books are okish, Terry Brooks, CS Lewis, 'Wise Children' by Angela Carter is quite good (studied it for AS-level English), 'Birdsong' by Sebastian Faulks is good but odd at times, 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' is good (A-Level coursework...) and so is 'A Clockwork Orange' when you get into the Nadsat language (it gets into your gulliver a malenky bit- A-level Coursework again...)
