Drew Rush

Drew was born in naples (Italy) on Jennuary 3th 1984. He was grown up in a family of artists (his paternal grandparents were classical musicians); music has always been part of his life. Blues, Jazz and Soul music have been the soundtrack of his youth. Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, have been his first points of reference and singing has always been a way to express his inner feelings.When he was sixteen, he started writing his own songs like Waiting for an eclipse (the first one). In 2000 his first trial with the great audience, he won an important music competition of his town. In 2002 he won an audition and became a singer of the Sunshine Band a gospel choir directed by Carlo Morelli, Master of the S. Carlo Theatre of Naples. In 2003 he sang at Mercadante Theatre of Neaples; at Blues Soul Festival where he collaborated with Dick Hallingan (Blood Sweat and Tears); in 2004 background vocals for Nomadi, Mavis Staples (Staples Sister) , Dulce Pontes e Eliades Ochoa (Buena Vista Social Club) in the Christmas Concert at S. Maria La Nova Church (Naples); in the same year he came back to the Blues Soul Festival. In 2005 a collaboration with Eduardo De Crescenzo. In 2006 he performed in a traditional gospel song at the New Year Eve Concert at the Royal Palace of Caserta on Rai 1 (National Television). Numberless benefit shows and concerts in the oldest Cathedrals of his land. In 2006 he has finished his own demo Broken Chains with songs written and composed by himself.
