The Motor City Horns

About Me

Having recently completed a stint with Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band as part of Seger's 2006-2007 North American "Face The Promise" Tour, The Motor City Horns are back in Detroit, continuing to stay busy as one of the most versatile horn sections available. In addition to Bob Seger, the Motor City Horns have toured with Clarence Clemons and The Temple of Soul. They have recorded for the R&B/hip-hop group, Red Dirt, on Upfront Records. They have performed and recorded with The Brothers Groove and Bump and have just started working with jazz flutist Alexander Zonjic. Recordings are soon to be released with the blues band Root Doctor, indie-rock band The Silent Years, Midtown Underground, and blues guitarist Johnnie Bassett. In addition, they have been involved in numerous industrial and commercial recording projects. The Motor City Horns use an Audio-Technica wireless system.Individually, members of the MCH have a wide array of performance credits. Highlights include: John Rutherford has toured and recorded with Yo-Yo Ma and The Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Trumpeter Mark Byerly has toured and recorded with Justin Timberlake and The Verve Pipe. Keith Kaminski has toured and recorded with Johnnie Bassett, The Four Tops, and Betty LaVette. Bob Jensen has performed as lead trumpet with a number of orchestras and big bands, backing national acts and entertainers such as The Temptations, The Four Tops, and Aretha Franklin. The Motor City Horns record extensively at Longview Sound in Rochester Hills, MI.
