Devon "Devo" Bryant and Jonathan "Jonny Records" Raymond met and began recording together at The Art Institute Of Seattle's Audio Production program in 2000 and the charts have yet to recover. Despite Devo's initial mistrust of Records' golden locks, the two bonded over their common love of quality recordings and inability to hold down a square job. Both were founding members of Eightysevenwest Recording, a six-man company which formed at The Art Institute and later relocated to Chicago to seek their fame and fortune. After many recordings made with that company, Devo and Records eventually struck out on their own to focus on honing to a diamond tip their hip-shaking production techniques.
