About Me

The 18th Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival celebrates the Irish heritage and culture at its NEW LOCATION - RIVERPLEX AMPHITHEATRE AT SANDCASTLE NEAR THE WATERFRONT IN WEST HOMESTEAD.Enjoy authentic food, live international and national entertainment, step and ceili dance performances and workshops, Irish marketplace, cultural area (Irish instrument demonstrations, language, sports, symbol drawing, travel, and arts), Irish dog display tent, and extensive children’s area.The Festival is held September 5-7, 2008 at the Riverplex Amphitheatre at Sandcastle, 1000 Sandcastle Drive, West Homestead, PA 15120.This year's entertainment includes Gaelic Storm, Pogey, Glengarry Bhoys, Makem and Spain Brothers, Beoga, Screaming Orphans, Gadelle, Cahal Dunne, Dennis Doyle, Michael Murphy and the Shannon River Band, Matthew Craig and The Kerry Tipper Band, Red Hand Paddy, Hooley, Mike Gallagher, Burke Conroy Irish Dancers, Pittsburgh Ceili Club, Pittsburgh Irish Reelers, Bell School of Irish Dance, Shovlin Academy of Irish Dance, Corned Beef and Curry, Terry Griffith, The Rolling Scones, Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh, Mark Guiser, Alan Irvine, and Patrick Regan with more acts being added every day!(Program and performers subject to change).Hours are Friday September 5 - 4:00pm - 12:00 midnight, Saturday, September 6 - 11:00am - 12:00 midnight and Sunday, September 7 - 9:00am - 6:00pm.Visit www.pghirishfest.org for more information and the complete schedule of events.
