The Funky Groove Award for the night definitely went to Fur Kit, who also snatched second place. The Band have some real chops happening and manage to work that thing so elusive to many acts they leave room for each other. Like a bunch of cocktail hour telepaths, they seem to know instinctively what each other is up to, as they crank their own brand of deviant cabaret rock. More than ably lead by Melanie, a shimmying diva in a zebra stripped frock, these guys are onto something very sharp and very much their own.
