Hamit Altintop (born December 8 , 1982 in Gelsenkirchen) is a German-born Turkish national footballer. He is the twin brother of footballer Halil Altintop. Hamit started his professional career in local German club Wattenscheid in 2000 along with his brother. As successful performances grabbed the attention of bigger clubs, Hamit was transferred to Schalke 04 in 2003, where he plays currently in a primarily defensive midfield role. Hamit played in the Champions League scoring a wonderful goal against AC Milan he also played in the semi-finals of the UEFA cup.
