Mudu MultiMedia - Who's Behind That?
Walter T. Mudu started his artists management company MUDU MULTIMEDIA in the fall of 1992 and was approached by RUSSELL SIMMONS PRESENTS HBO'S DEF POETRY JAM in April of 2001. Offered the job of Talent Coordinator for the first season, his successes have kept him working with DPJ now in it's 6th season. As the Executive Talent Consultant, he continues to bring poetic fire to HBO's Peabody Award winning series with Performance Poets/Artists such as: GA.Me, Lemon, Poetri, Mayda Del Valle, Suheir Hammad (all Tony Award Winning Poets, Russell Simmons presents Def Poetry on Broadway), Sekou Sundiata, HBO's The Wire star Wood Harris, Maggie Estep, Bowery Poetry Club co-owner Bob Holman, Jus Caus, Will 'darealone' Bell, Taylor Mali, Dawn Saylor, Ishle Park, Abyss, Rachel Street, Dennis Kim, Frenchie Davis, John S. Hall, Flaco Navaja, Sekou the Misfit, Steve Connell (both on Norman Lear's Declare Yourself Spoken Word Tour), Marc Bamuthi Joseph, Rock Baby, Rich Medina, Essence Magazine's Asha Bandele, Regie Cabieco, former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins, Julian Curry, Thea Monyee, Gina Loring, George McKibbens and Dana Gilmore. As an event planner Mudu has organized and supervised the Afterparties for every season of HBO's Def Poetry Jam and the Afterparty for Def Poetry Jam on Broadway. He Works hard, but he parties just as hard!
