danceable rock songs about lovable girls

About Me

Alex first rose to fame as the star of the now out-of-print classic after-school-special, "The Fish From Japan." His success as an actor enabled him to return to his true love, drumming in the garage. When Jake formed a trombone-led classic rock band in high school, Alex was the drummer. The trombone band was short-lived (1 practice), but from that meeting, Jake and Alex formed a summer band in college, Trespassers W. Winters in college, Jake met Frank when the two were the only rockers on their otherwise hard-working floor of the engineering dorm. 10 years later, Frank, Alex, and Jake met up again in California, and formed Imaginary Girlfriend in 2002 after a self-help seminar led Jake to start a band (the other guys in the seminar got better jobs or proposed to their girlfriends at the end; it's doubtful whether the organizers intended the workshop to further the cause of better rock music). Alex joined on drums, and the two of them recruited Frank to play bass. Their first album, Imaginary Girlfriend Moved to Canada But Will Be Visiting Over Christmas, sold 100 copies, and the hit single, "The Trouble With Allison," was played on local college-hits radio station KSCU at least 3 times. They played several Redwood City gigs: the Mardi Gras was such a success that the venue stopped having live music shortly afterwards, and the Shooters gig was overshadowed by the fire that permanently closed the bar shortly afterwards. They have released a music video for their single, "Mimi and Jeff," and are currently intermittently working on a 2nd album, which will contain excerpts of their rock opera about Doug Hopkins, founder and suicidal lead-guitarist for the Gin Blossoms when they were still a good bar band.
