Representing Inglewood, CA, a sublet of Los Angeles, Ludeboi has made it a personal vendetta to bring pride back to the West Coast. As part of a larger movement, he is working to show the rest of the country and, more importantly, the local media markets that the new west coast artists are infusing pure lyricism back into mainstream hip hop music.
Ludeboi began the serious pursuit of a rap career shortly after the turn of the century. In his do-it-yourself fashion he employed his fascination for electronics and an aptitude to build things to create a studio in his cousin’s home where he begin truly developing his craft and putting in the footwork of a talented artist on the rise.
Although raised in Inglewood, Ludeboi was able to avoid falling prey to the gang activity that was ever present around him and therefore definitely would not describe his music as gangster rap. As times change so does music and Ludeboi is a new west artist that proves you can be from the west coast and not be a gangster rapper.
Originally apart of the group HomeTeam, where he released a mixtape, First Swing, in 2005, Ludeboi is now a solo artist signed to the Cash Money imprint Blu Division Music under the guidance of Glasses Malone. Blu Division, which operates more like a family business than a record label, also carries Quiz and Conflict, who are longtime friends of Ludeboi. With these and other artists there has been a resurgence of energy and talent that is sure to put the West back on top. Ludeboi will contribute his fair share with a number of projects, collaborations and features coming in the very near future.
