BEAT LADEN

Beat Laden is a portuguese producer member of Cartell70. Has been involved in the music scene from the mid 90's, first as a dj, but soon took production as his main goal. His debut as a producer was in 98 with the release of two Hard Techno 12" on the extinguished indy label Raveman records. But the techno scene in Lisbon was a bit limitating for his ambitions. There was this rush to create something unique. In the fall of 2000, Beat Laden together with the singer poets Pablo and Castro, formed Cartell70. Joining the different influences of the band members they created a unique blend of styles that is Cartell70's sound. Cartell70's debut album was recorded in 2005 at Toolateman Studios, where they worked with the Blasted Mechanism Crew, one of the leading Portuguese Bands He also worked with ITHAKA, the american poet/photografer best known for the house anthem "So Get Up". Together they conceived the EP "Fuse With Me" released on Groundzero Records, an indy label created by Cartell70. As Beat Laden's technical skills developed, he decided to go further and created the Groundzero Studio, located in Lisbon. As a mixing engineer and producer, he's working with some of the best HipHop and Ragga artists in Portugal, but he's also extending his work field into recording alternative rock bands such as "You Should Go Ahead". Meanwhile, he has been doing some remixes for artists such as Mercado Negro, Plaza, Ithaka, and some bootlegging....
