Born T.J. Benson on August 29, 1989, DJ Iyce Cold Da Beat Killa, commonly know as Iyce Cold or Killa, is a engineer, beatmaker, songwriter, producer, and rapper from Thomson, GA.
Iyce Cold signed to his cousin's, Maury "M-Trakz" Collins, record label, Trak Muzik Records in 2003 as the in-house producer and the label's Vice President. His impact was instantly noticed, as his highly developed ear for music and unorthodox approach to developing and producing music had an adverse effect on the entire label. In late 2006, he conceptualized and founded Street Breed Production, who he is also Co-CEO of along with Maury "M-Trakz" Collins.
Soon after the formation of Street Breed Productions, he was promoted to President of Trak Muzik Records. Around this time, the label started to generate buzz with the street hits "T.R.A.Kz." and "They Call Me". following their graduation from high school, the entire Trak Muzik roster, which now contained over seven members, formed a collective know as the Getti Squad, released their well-received debut mixtape, The Reincarnation, which spawned hits like "Gods of Muzik", "Candy Licka", "I Just Want", "Let It Go", and "I.C.U.".
In September 2007, The Getti Squad reached new popularity with the hit known as "Supahead (T.A.S.)", a record so monumental that lawsuits were threatened and members of the Getti Squad were barred from recording for a short while. That December, the Getti Squad released the second installment of the Reincarnation series, "The Reincarnation 2: Resurrection"; at the same time M-Trakz released his first mixtape, "City of God", both producing hits such as "I'm So Hood (Getti Remix)", "Pimp Game", "Fly Like Ghost", "Lap Dance", "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Pamper U", and "Hataville, GA".
Currently, Iyce Cold and the rest of the Getti Squad are preparing the third edition of Reincarnation, "Redemption" and Getti Squad's first album, "Hurricane Getti". M-Trakz is prepping his second mixtape, "City of God 2", and Iyce Cold himself is putting together his first solo mixtape, "The-Release". He and M-Trakz released their first mixtape, "The Serenity" in late december to close out 2008 and are prepping two new mixtapes, "The Serenity 2" and "LMAO!", a comedy/parody mixtape. 2009 is panning out to be a great year for the Getti Squad and the future is only getting brighter for the man known as Iyce Cold...
