About Me
Tendril is a Texas-bred rock and roll conglomerate hailing from the
rusty streets of Dallas. These are four men with one unified vision: to
bring down the house. This is rock and roll for the thinking people of
this post-industrial, pre-apocalyptic megalopolis. Brutal honesty,
sharpened wits and visceral ingenuity. The salvos are intense and
consistent; the message is clear
Formed in late 95, the Tendril hierarchy consists of guitarist/vocalist
Duane Deering, bassist/vocalist Darren Paul, guitarist Richie DeMeglio,
and drummer Tony Wann. Tendrils early years of Rock & Roll R&D have
earned the band experience, a loyal following, a handful of early
recordings (all of which have received airplay in varying fashion), and
significant soundtrack contributions for both TV and independent film.
Additionally, Tendril has shared the stage with such bands as P.O.D.,
Mike Watt, The Toadies, The Feds, Bowling For Soup, Red Animal War,
Flickerstick, The Vanished, and The Paperchase.
The bands most recent full-length, Anaphase, Baby!, quickly became a
critical darling and cult favorite, winning over critics of all
spectrums of the punk/metal/rock genres, with countless national
publications universally praising this Monolithic slab of art-rock
noise. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
Fueled further by these successes and their surrounding tours and press,
the Tendril machine continues to propel forward at full-force. Since
2003, the band has twice performed at the prestigious South By Southwest
Music Festival in Austin, Headlined 2 midwest tours from Dallas to
Detroit, seen six of its songs appear in broadcasts of Cartoon Networks
Dragonball Z series, as well as the nationally distributed DVD movie
Broly: The Legendary Super-Saiyan, all the while continuing to hone
the skills and sharpen the tongue through show after show.
Tendril is currently writing and recording demos for its next
full-length release. Though already sitting on a veritable goldmine of
all-new material, the band continues to polish and add to the
repertoire, positioning itself on course to annihilate its previous
critically-acclaimed offerings, preparing to knock the next one even
further out of the ballpark.
