About Me

Often GloriousColin Irwin, Mojo (March 2003)____The chemistry of the band mixes Robertson's distinctive 60 years of highland pipe playing, learned from his famous father, Pipe Major "JB" Robertson with the hardcore, driving drumming of ex-Boomtown Rat, Simon Crowe. Blend this with Pete Bingham's funky bass, fiddle playing from Carl Allerfeldt, the cittern of Tony Bayliss and you have an exciting and listenable concoction of highly charged Celtic Funk. Band Members: Simon Crowe: DrumsSimon, from Dublin, spent 10 years touring and recording with The Boomtown Rats, playing at the incredible Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium. He now lives in Devon and just as he once was the driving force in the Rats he now drives Jiggerypipery.Tony Bayliss: Cittern, Guitar and VocalsTony has played all over the UK and Europe and has written and arranged music for both film and TV. Originally from the north-east of England, he moved to the south-west and now lives on Dartmoor.Carl Allerfeldt: FiddleBorn and raised on Dartmoor but of Scandinavian parentage, Carl brings a Swedish influence to the bands sound. He also drives the band in the farm truck and sheep-trailer!James Robertson - Great Highland Bagpipe James's father was Pipe Major of the Scots Guards and he was winning piping competitions from an early age. He has played, with his father, on several major feature films, working alongside the great Muir Mathieson. James currently lives in Exeter and teaches the bagpipes.Pete Bingham: Bass GuitarReturn of the prodigal... Pete's back with a vengence, the ex-Waulk Electrik bassist is back banging out boppy bass-lines. London based Pete's return has given Jiggery a rare old kick up the Ass in the Graveyard.
Influences: Pipe-Major 'J.B. Robertson'....
