I set out to be an actor. I have in fact been (in chronological order) a warehouseman, a catering assistant, a shop assistant, a course tutor for the Manchester Youth Theatre, an estate agent, a bank cashier, a painter and decorator, a bookseller, an actor (hooray!), a delivery driver, a landlord, complaints co-ordinator in the NHS Mental Health service, an actor again (hooray!), and the assistant manager of a specialist bookshop. None of these have proved particularly fulfilling (except the painting and decorating, oddly - I love that) and I live in hope that I have yet to find my artistic calling. The New Year saw me giving up a comfy well paid (well, paid) job to train as a teacher of Stage Combat and embrace the perilously daft world of casual employment once more. My nomadic and ostentatiously unsuccessful career path has led many people to believe that I am in reality a spy.By birth and upbringing I'm a Yorkshireman, but have lived in London for three years, where I share a house with my brilliant mate Brian. We spend altogether too much time in the pub talking rubbish.
