About Me

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. Seven years ago I returned to school where I still am - working away on my PhD in Integrative Biology. Yeah, I know, it sounds real geeky, but to know me is to - know that that fits me real well. I teach Microbiology at Florida Atlantic University which I really enjoy and could see myself teaching on the college level forever and would be very happy. I don't know where I'll really end up working after graduation but I'll leave that one up to God. I have enough to deal with just getting through school.I'm a proud Grandma to three of the most beautiful girls in the world. It really is true when they say that grandchildren are more fun than children. You can spoil the heck out of them and then send them home for Mommy and Daddy to deal with!I love my family, NASCAR, marine biology, and camping but school keeps the camping to an extreme minimum. I look forward to being able to do more after I graduate.Even though I live in south Florida, I absolutely hate it and can't wait to move to Spivey's Corner, NC which can't come soon enough!

My Interests

NASCAR (go Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards!) - camping - my family - and marine biology

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to meet old friends from school (not that they're old mind you!) especially ones that were close. It's awful once you've lost touch with them. Not too many famous people would really excite me to meet. They all put on their pants one leg at a time just like all of us! Except for maybe Jeff Gordon. I'd like to get him to sign my hat.
