Some Kinda Girl

Dust off the stage and we'll do...good... Really good!

About Me

Film and music are pretty much my life. I love to write, not too good at keeping up with the reading, though I have been getting better (and thus sacrificing my school work). So many things on my list...My visual art abilities are limited, but I love it anyway. I paint and doodle and sew a little and crochet. I tend to be random and blunt and rather up front with people. I apologize in advance. I also tend to get my foot caught in my mouth. Just remember that what I say isn't always what I mean because I can be very inarticulate at times. Yeah...I go to Mills College. I am a humanoid.

My Interests

A lot of stuff. I like tattoos and piercings, but not a lot of either. Happiness is good...and a warm gun...I believe in doing what is right for yourself before worrying about what is best for others, seeing as everyone wants and needs different things. One can't change the world if one can't change themselves first. I love nature with every inch of my being. Green is my favorite colour. I wish I could get up to Redwood National Forest. Quel dommage.

I'd like to meet:

Cool people who don't suck.

Music:

Rockabilly, punk, classic rock, 80's, and blues are the best types of music in my professional opinion. I do enjoy a bit o' bluegrass, like from America's Top 40 on KPFA. Bands: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Nirvana, Misfits, Phenomenauts, Weezer, Iron and Wine, Elvis Presley, BB King, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Robert Johnson, Billie Holiday, Metallica (old), Apocalyptica, Michael Jackson, Red Elvises, Marilyn Manson, Depeche Mode, the Clash, Tool, the White Stripes, Cab Calloway, The Chiffons, Pansy Division, the Doors, Scurvy Dogs, the Ramones, AQUABATS!, Thee Merry Widows, Cream, AC/DC, Rick James, James Brown, Etta James, Jason Webley, Tenacious D, Flogging Molly, the Beatles, the Temptations, Sublime, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Oingo Boingo, Street To Nowhere, Poor Bailey, Bob Marley, Flight of the Conchords, Reel Big Fish, Peggy Lee, Patsy Cline, The Struts, Santana, The Talking Heads and, um, others that I don't want to list cuz I'm lazy. Best line in a song EVER: "You’re crazier than a fish with titties if you think I’m gonna let you smoke that shit up in my car!"-R. Kelly, Trapped in the Closet, Ch. 13

Movies:

Midnite Movies, Tim Burton, John Waters, Johnny Depp, John Hughes, Coen Brothers (O, Brother! Where Art Thou?, Barton Fink, Lady Killers, etc.), Edward Norton, Quentin Tarrantino, David Lynch, Monty Python, B-movies, old Horror flicks, Film Noir, German Expressionism, Batman (60's and the first two contemporary ones and the one with Christian Bale), Star Wars 4-6, Princess Bride, Hitchcock, Office Space, the Sandlot, Godfather (1 & 2), all the Muppets movies, Stanley Kubrick, Goodfellas, Rock Operas (i.e., Pink Floyd's the Wall), and others. MUSICALS! Like Rocky Horror and Moulin Rouge and Crybaby and The Producers and The Pick of Destiny. Fight Club, Running With Scissors, Four Rooms, Equilibrium, Wayne's World, Borat, Blades of Glory, Momento, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, I 3 Huckabees, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Surf Ninjas, Life is Beautiful, Rashomon, Triplets of Belleville, Crash, Car Wash, Fifth Element, Forbidden Zone, the Blues Brothers, Run Lola Run, Amelie, Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Ratatouille, Garden State, the Piano Teacher, and so many more it's slightly ridiculous. I'm a film buff...and minoring in the subject.

Television:

Family Guy, the Simpsons, Scrubs, the Muppet Show, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Buffy, The Office, the Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Arrested Development, Trapped in the Closet by R. Kelly.
