About Me
INERTIA MUSIC & ART FESTIVAL
Since it's inception in 2004, INERTIA, has established itself as a showcase of Northwest local talent, representing the diversity of the region's rich music and art scene. Inertia is passionately crafted to promote the creativity of up-and-coming NW musicians and on-the-cusp artists. This highly anticipated annual event has engaged the community, while acknowledging and celebrating the artistic and musical talents blossoming from our local region.
At the helm of this project, Jennifer Meyers of Acknowledge Entertainment, created Inertia with one goal in mind - gain more recognition for the working local musician and artist. Inertia began as an independent, grassroots event, that spontaneously gained momentum and outgrew the capacity of a private residence. With each year, Inertia continues to grow in numbers and popularity, but has never lost that original spirit, purpose, or intent – to Support Local Talent.
The Inertia Festival attracts people of all walks of life from toddler to senior, from neighbor to tourist, from survivor to the fortunate. Years' past attendance has ranged from 140 – 460 energy-driven beings. 2009 will mark Inertia's 5 year anniversary and will call for a grand celebration complete with the region's best in music, art, and community sponsors.
During the last 4 years of its existence as an outdoor festival, Inertia has represented local talent working in a multitude of genres and mediums including spoken word artists, jewelry designers, acrylic artists, fire dancers, painters, musicians, improvisational actors, break dancers, Poetry Slam champions, airbrush artists, photographers, fashion designers, and Capoeira performers.
The Inertia Music and Arts Festival has proven to be an outstanding networking tool for artists – as well as an exciting vehicle for championing the talents of local musicians.
