ILL MOVE SPORADIC
(Beat Makers)
Ben 81 and East Man grew up in West London and bonded over there obsession with Hip Hop, Hardcore, dub plates and Graffiti in the early 90's.
Both were kicked out of school for causing mayhem preferring to spend time in record shops and playing on pirate radio.
They both went to Art College in the late Nineties where there love of Hip Hop grew into a need to make beats...
After fucking off Art College and scraping their money together in 2000 they built a Studio in a derelict Garage near Eastman’s house.
Forming Hip Hop collective Starch Music in 2003 with Gus Pony & Monte, they distributed and promoted first release:
"NO WINDOWS" 12" in 2005 on their own label STARCH MUSIC RECORDS-
receiving reviews like:
"a stunning debut" - MIKE LEWIS (LEWIS RECORDINGS) HHC magazine Aug 2005
This release featured on various Mix CDs.
Starch Music was temporarily canned in 2006 due to creative differences.
Deciding to go it alone with a headstrong fuck you attitude Ben 81 and Eastman refined their style forming IMS Kru (ILL Move Sporadic) in 2007.
The agenda was clear, analogue is policy!
They sourced record shops all over the country and abroad searching for sounds no one has ever used before.
Using old EMU and Akai samplers along side vintage effects and compressors they create hard funk and film score inspired Hip Hop music.
This is pure crate digging music but with out any nerd shit!!
Now they are ready to release their first EP – THE SALUTE Featuring the MC duo The Two Man Army
The EP features ILL Moves haunted production and the Two Man Army’s hard lyrics with tales of life growing up in London meshing together to create a piece of work that is pure hardcore music.
