Downtown Art Scene

Greetings art lovers! Welcome to the Downtown Springfield Art Scene MySpace! My name is Jaye, I own a downtown store and gallery called Fashioned By Jaye, and I'll be taking care of this page with artist Abby Waters. If you have any suggestions for things you'd like to see happen with this page, just drop me a line!
A couple of things I'm working on, and need everyone's assistance with, are as follows:
1. If you're a local Ozarks artist and have a website featuring your work, send me a 50 pixel x 50 pixel image (of art, of you, however you wish to represent yourself) with a link to your webpage, and I'll include it in the soon-to-appear Virtual Artists Quilt. Each square will link to that artist's page. Send me a link to the image via MySpace email, and I'll transfer the pic to my own website host.
2. If you're a downtown gallery or downtown business with space for exhibiting artwork, I'd like to include you in an artist resource directory. I just need to know who your contact person is, what type of art you generally display, what sort of portfolio you need to see from the artist (slides, digital images, actual portfolio... can it be emailed or mailed in, do they need to call first and set up an appointment, etc...) and any other information you'd like to have included. If there's a long waiting list and want that mentioned, send me that info as well.
The Downtown Springfield Art Scene MySpace is for local artists, art aficionados, and gallery owners to use to network with one another and promote their art and downtown art exhibitions by posting bulletins and comments. It is also for anyone interested in the art scene downtown. In the future, we will send out event announcements for exhibitions and special art-related events happening downtown.
