Music:
QOTSA, Tool, Soundgarden, Quicksand, Radiohead, Sparta, The Mars Volta, Deftones, Depeche Mode, Rush, Coldplay, Muse, and The Police just to name a few. Recently saw Ministry and Frontline Assembly. Yeah, I like a good industrial band or two.
Movies:
Too many to list here, besides it may sound like i'm easily entertained, but of my bestest faves I would have to include Gattaca, Slingblade, Trainspotting, Gummo, Unbreakable, A Clockwork Orange, City of God, American Beauty, Napoleon Dynamite, Brazil, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Swingers, and Idiocracy. Also, just about anything done by Stan Kubrick, David Cronenberg, Q Tarentino or featuring Bill Murray, Johnny Depp, or Robert De Niro.
Television:
Not too much here, but when I turn it on, its usually the H channel. Ok, so you want a regular TV show? Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes has been pretty hilarious. Did someone say reality show? The Ultimate Fighter can't be beat, no pun intended.
Books:
Mostly non-fiction. This year I've read The Men Who Stare at Goats, Jesus Goes to Hollywood, and The 12th Planet, among others. I'm currently into Crossing the Rubicon and the latest issue of Rolling Stone. Fiction? Umm...let's see, oh yeah The DaVinci Code, and no I haven't seen the movie yet.
Heroes:
Heroes? That's a bit dramatic and besides, the term has been thrown around so loosely of late that its lost its meaning. I think role model is a better term and among those exalted individuals who have my respect and admiration...my old man (ok, mom too!), Randy Couture, Tenacious D, and really anyone who has the balls to be themselves, stands up for their beliefs, or speaks out against wrongs in a society that incessantly pressures us to comply or be unfairly labeled and cast aside. I also have a tendency to champion the underdog. Woof!
