They are comprised of Lord Focus (23) and Hansum Rob (25). These brothers have created a style of hip hop that fuses jazz, soul, and r&b, but the foundation of the music is the poetry these brothers recite over the eclectic tracks. They started their careers as most do, in talent shows. After winning more than a fair share of competitions and street battles, they decided to record an album for the first time in 2003 entitled, “Life through the Eyes....” which they sold by themselves throughout the south. They have sold an estimated 20,000 copies of this album to date. They have also released numerous mix tapes throughout the south as well as having their single, “My City” featured on N.O. Exposed, a documentary about New Orleans, as well as having this song featured on 104.5 twice for 504 radio and their follow up single, “Get Away” following the release of their album. They are currently working on their second album entitled, “Soulseeology.” They have released a video for the lead single, “Best Friend,” which can be viewed on www.youtube.com or www.myspace.com/thalostsouls. The driving force behind what these guys do is not to create a believable image, but instead they strive to do something that they feel everyone should do, be themselves.
