I am here for Friends

About Me

Well, I grew up in N. Canton, OH on a small farm... I became interested in television production in high school... became an intern at a local cable station... Ran away to Las Vegas and married my boss... and then moved to Biloxi, MS...
Landed a job at the local credit union as a teller (so I could have "bankers hours" that would not conflict with my partying)... and then found the Parrot Heads (Jimmy Buffett fan club)... This is when the wild ride began!
Ten years later...... I work in the IT department of the same credit union... I have lived through more wild and crazy tropical themed parties hosted all over the US than any one person should ever be allowed experience... and now have the best core group of friends that anyone could ever ask for...
My husband, Mike and I have two BEAUTIFUL and charming girls (Madelyn & Olivia)... and have found ourselves living a life that we had thought only existed in movies...
Biloxi, MS is such a fascinating place to live. An hour drive in either direction can take you to the beaches of Florida or the crazy streets in New Orleans. Southern hospitality really exists and sweet tea really does become a staple when you live here.

Mike and I have passed one of the biggest tests I could ever imagine in life. We rode out Hurricane Katrina in a house only 1 block away from our home. Our home and the mother in law cottage in our back yard were located only a few blocks off the beach when the enormous surge from Katrina came ashore. We lost most everything in our home and we were forced to have the bulldozers come in to finish off the mess that remained. The kicker was the fact that we did not live in a flood zone so we were one of the lucky ones you heard about on the news where insurance only paid to replace our privacy fence (since they determined that it was not damaged by water, but by wind).
With our daughters only 18 months (Madelyn) and 7 weeks old (Olivia)we did not have time to feel sorry for ourselves and we had to work very hard to make a new home for our family. With the help of hundreds of people (some we didn't even know) we finally moved in to a new home after over seven months of living in a tiny FEMA travel trailer. We may have a mortgage now big enough to buy a couple houses in California (it consolidated the 2 homes we lost and the home we live in now) but we have learned that debt is absolutely nothing compared to what we could have lost.
We are all very happy, very thankful and very blessed to be here and to have been able to feel the immeasurable kindness from strangers that really does exist in the world!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Old friends from home, Parrot Head friends that we may have bumped into over the years, or anyone who is happy and enjoys life as much as we do!
