The Great Undivide is a conference dedicated to providing space for people of color to come together with the intent of building radical change. We are a locally based collective (outta Denver , CO ) that aims to build a stronger sense of community among radical people of color through means of networking, organizing, and learning from each other’s struggles. We hope this conference will lead to greater solidarity among communities of color. We are the only ones who can free ourselves. We recognize that oppression operates on multiple levels including (but certainly not limited to) race, gender, sexuality, age ability, color, language, and nationality. We envision, in the words of the Zapatistas, a world where many worlds are possible, a world where everyone’s contribution is valued, a world which prioritizes the autonomy and self-determination of communities of color, and a world in which these communities work together in solidarity, cooperation, and interdependence, recognizing that our own liberation depends on the liberation of all.
Given our goals, The Great Undivide is a gathering intended for self-identified people of color who are interested in working towards radical social change.
