About Me

Stephen Rowe was born in a small mining town in the outback of Australia called Broken Hill. It’s about eight hundred miles inland from Sydney, and its hotter then hell in summer, and it can get freezing cold in winter. He left school at a young age and went onto study a trade in carpentry. During that time, Stephen raced motocross and was sponsored by a dealership in Broken Hill. To keep in shape for motocross, Stephen practiced boxing for four years and also studied Classical Ballet.Stephen traveled south to Adelaide to complete a two week course at The Dance Center Ballet School. At the end of the two week course, the school offered Stephen a full scholarship. As a result, Stephen went back to Broken Hill, packed his bags and left for a career as a Classical Ballet dancer. A rarity for a young bloke from Broken Hill. After two years at the school, Stephen was accepted to the Western Australian Ballet Company. His dancing career continued on for the next fifteen years. Stephen ended up in America and danced for numerous Companies, including those at Milwaukee Ballet. Cincinnati Ballet and Houston Ballet. It was in Houston Texas, where his musical inspiration began and he started writing his own material. Stephen’s musical influences range from the country music that he was exposed to as a boy and the classic Australian/British rock of his teenage years. His country/rock inspirations were artists like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, the Beatles, David Bowie, AC/DC, etc, and of course the Australian Legend Slim Dusty.Though music is a primary focus of Stephen’s life, he continues to practice as a carpenter, explore artistic endeavors through his painting, and sustains a healthy acting career.Stephen is currently living in Los Angeles, with frequent trips back home to his family in Australia.
