My Ode to RJ...I miss u more than I have words for <3
Hmm, what can one say about themselves. I've always felt u can tell a lot about a person from the company they keep and the music they listen to. I guess I can start there. I went to my first rave in 1996 & fell in love with the scene. Music was my first true love--anyone who has ever been in love can tell u--u can never fall out of real love. It will always be part of u're soul. Its a part of who u are & u can never change that. Anyone who was there remembers how bad the rave scene got a for a few years there. I totally stopped going out for at least 2 years because it made me sick to see what had become of something I'd held so dear for so long. But I believe everything comes full circle. And despite myself, I could never stay away too long. So, 2 years ago I began going back out & I noticed something. There were a few crews throwing good parties with the good vibes I'd remembered. Then little by little the old schoolers started to come out of the woodworks and new kids discovered what was up. So, as I reaquainted myself with old friends, the ideas started brewing...we got to thinking its time for us to clean things up. So, we got together with some friends-both old & new- and we started a production company--SOS Productions--because, let's face it, we need help. As the "smoke signal" went out, help arrived from every angle. I'd just like to take a minute to say thanks to all the crews out there who stuck it out when things were tough & those both new & old who are working to pump life back into a scene I thought was dead. Much love & Respect to both the SOS family and our extended family/crews: Smoove Groove, Keepin it Real, Hard Mind, Vitus, Column of Knowledge, Sky's the Limit, Back Yard Beats, Kind Kids, Stuck on Earth & all the partie kids who stuck with it through the years.
