Band Members: COOLEY-G, the Artist ,the Producer,C.E.O. and co-founder of the WAUK-SIDE Empire, stands to be one the rawest pioneers that came out of the Lake County ,Il. area. Cooley's crafts and skills goes back as far as the early 90's when he and his other homies, DRAC, BROTHER COLD, J-JILLA, DEF BEATand ARZSKI formed the group 7-4 POSSE.Writing and composing tracks for the hood, just for the love of the game, was a everyday thang.COOLEY-G mind set on becoming a star ( or should I say being LARGE!! ) elavated the game with his first single titled "DOGGS ON ADAMS st." that was produced by Corwin Blackmon of RAYZ-UP RECORDS which recieved raving reviews from the town. This would be the begining of an ongoing journey of track lacin' as the group released the debut album titled 'MENTALLY SCARRED' which featured such songs as 'Mr. Roger's Ghetto', NYMPHOES, and COOLEY'S KILLIN' EM DEAD, which was one of COOLEY-G's first recorded produced joints. With the influence he gained from great producers from the MidWest such as Maurice'Funky Thumbs' Houston, Derik ' FLYY-GUYY' Yarbrough and Corwin 'Money-Black' Blackmon, he continued climbing the scale as he released the following album titled 'Da Ill Funkshun- Str-8 from the Planet Waukegan' executive producing the entire project. This was the beginning of WAUK-SIDE RECORDS. Around that time, the base got bigger including a young thirsty artist by the name of Ra-G who was hand picked by cooley himself from the V.I.R.U.S camp. Adding Ra-G to the team only meant one thing,, more platinum recording. In 1997, COOLEY-G released the platinum rated single titled "VISIONS", labeled as a WAUK-TOWN classic, recieved airplay from the power station 107.5 WGCI(CHICAGO BASED).The project included artist such as Greg 'Nasty-G' Vickers, Greg 'Brotha IZM' Goodpastor and Andre 'Raytrom-X' Ray with production work by Maurice Houston. This song brought fans from young to old with a melodie that one could step to, at the same time could enter a beautiful women's mind and captivate her heart. COOLEY-G proceeded in the game creating tracks with the motivation giving by DRAC and Brother Cold display his multi-talents of producing and entertaining released the 3rd album titled 'WAUK-SIDE MUZIK-VOL.1' showing the consistency of the group. During this time DRAC who was at that time working for WHAT'S HAPPENING MAGAZINE created a section called THE HIP-HOP HOOK-UP which brought even more attention to WAUK-SIDE for the purpose of promoting other groups throughout Lake County. This was a tool that was utilized by many in which helped gave the birth of WAUK-SIDE PROMOTIONS that is overseen by DRAC and to this day is used as a strong networking base. From the MidWest to the Dirty South he continues to produce the finest of tracks bringing new players in the game as he passes the torch on to the young soldiers of the set with the heart and drive of true m.c.'s. And with this movement the birth of The Setbound Mobstaz( Young Woeloxx & KAOS) came to surface and will soon be labeled as one of the hardest groups in the game. Along with producing Cooley is a proud member of The Old School Committe creating events such as The Old School Picnic, S.O.S. (Stop the Violence Save Our Shorties Talent Events), Father's Day Picnics and also supervised The Lake County Afrofest Youth Performer's stage for multiple years. It don't stop and it won't stop!! So keep your ears open and your hands in the air with TWO FINGERS TWISTED IN THE MIDDLE for,,,,WAUK-SIDE MUZIK!!
