About Me

My first band was called 'A Leap In The Dark' and we tried to sound like Dire Straits and Eric Clapton. We had a unique sound by plugging everything into a single AC 30 amp! Paul on guitar, Steve on Bass and numerous exploding drummers. Then we disbanded for a while. Steve joined 'Henry's Blues House in Staines and I joined 'The Untouchables' a motown soul and reggae band. Then the original guys got back together in the mid 90's; we changed the name of the Band to The Explorers and began to work on two CD projects. One was called 'Navigator' and the other 'Zaponia' Both were commisioned by Zurich Financial Services. Both sessions are now available on one CD. Then we decided to do cover versions for a while and built up a set of New Wave covers. We would play material by The Jam, The Pistols, The Buzzocks, The Undertones, Joe Jackson, The Clash. The Explorers have now gone into hibernation so I am now working with Paul on some more original material. We are recording through Autumn 2007 and hope to have a new album out early in the new year so watch this space

Sounds Like: This a tough one.. I grew up on a diet of progressive rock so have a natural love of things Floyd and Zep. But then went to the Cambridge Folk festival for 20 years in a row. Those folk, country sounds gradully enter the bloodstream and begin to influence the sounds and song structure. So you can hear shades of Floyd, Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, Steely Dan
