About Me

Patrick holds a B.M. in Saxophone Performane with a certification in jazz studies from Appalachian State University and a M.M. in Multiple Woodwind Performance from Winthrop University. Patrick has performed for such notable venues and festivals as the Blowing Rock Jazz Society, ASU Jazz Festival, NCMEA Conference, Speakeasy Jazz Club in Winston-Salem, NC American Bandmasters Association, Lees-McRae Summer Theatre, Jazz Discovery Music Festival, East Side Jazz Festival, North Texas Jazz Festival, and the Grove Park Inn Jazz Festival in Asheville, NC. Patrick has conducted saxophone clinics for noted schools such as Lenoir-Rhyne College and for the Harper Jazz Ensemble. As a member of the Piedmont Jazz Collective, under the direction of Seth Carper, Patrick has been a featured performer aboard the Regent Seven Seas Navigator. Patrick can also be found performing in theatre pit orchestras playing saxophone, clarinet, and flute. Past theatre performances include "Smokey Joe's Cafe," "West Side Story," "Oklahoma," "Annie Get Your Gun," "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum," "Damn Yankees," and "Crazy For You." He has performed and shared the stage with Wycliffe Gordon, Marcus Roberts, Ingrid Jensen, Rick Simerly, Roland Guerin, Jason Marsalis, Brad Leali, Mike Tomaro, Steve Wiest, and Poncho Sanchez. Patrick is currently on faculty at Davidson College and is a private woodwind instructor and freelance performer throughout the Southeast. His middle and high school students have been selected to participate in All-District Band Festival and have received superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble Festival. Patrick is a member of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).
