About Me

Hello folks.
Our son Eddie was born on the 2nd July. WWHHOOOOPPPEEEE!!! Emma and me are delighted and everybody's doing great. I'm going to upload some photos now (obviously).

Anyway....

Well, I live in Manchester where I'm involved in all things musical. I work at a studio called Airtight in Chorlton and play guitar / backing vocals and trumpet with a band called The Earlies in which I've carved out the nieche of chief moustache, along with engineer / producer and mix engineer.

I have worked with The Earlies producing Micah P Hinson And The Gospel Of Progress, King Creosote's "KC Rules OK" (which he does) plus some bits for Bombshell, Emmy The Great (mix) and tracks for Plan B (No More Eatin' being the one he put on the album though I believe our awesome version of Sick 2 Def (sic) may see the light of day eventually. We did another track called Breakdown which was also awesome (by the way, if I ever put the word awesome on this site please imagine it pronounced in an English accent, very flat like catalogue or door knob)). We also did some great stuff for Leona Naess (don't know what's happening with that) and had KT Tunstall in for King Creosote's album. Dawn Landes did a very brief session too and Picktish Trail did some tracks with us which I'm sure will see the light of day eventually. I have also recorded Windmill's first album Puddle City Racing Lights (for Melodic), Sara Lowes EP Tomorrows Laughter, The Maple State's first EP, Laymar's excellent album In Strange Lines And Distances, some tracks for The Flowers Of Hell (mix) and The Beep Seals album Things That Roar. And mixed The Ting Tings single Fruit Machine and David Geraghty's album Kill Your Darlings. Oh, and some stuff with The Courteeners. And Air Cav's single Embers / Picking At The Bones. And Platnum.

On top of that I've worked with countless (well, I haven't counted them) bands in the Manchester area including Stranger Son Of WB, Sisters of Transistors, Liam Frost, Steven Fretwell, Fortunefeller, John Stammers, David Potts (from Monacoe), Ghostly Man, The Longcut, Nine Black Alps, The Forest, Polytechnic (Pep), Fear Of Music, The Fremen, The Harrisons, an Earlies remix of Hot Chip, Reverand Coyote, Orphan Boy, Alfie, Little Neemo, Jim Whitley, Paula Darwish, Stray Light, Wax Planet, Nuclear Free City, Wriggley and LOTS of other rappers, Lisa Redford, Dirty Circus, The Library Trust, The Deadbeats, Clarky Cat - I even had John Parrot in once! Hookey came in to work on a Manchester United song a while back (I'm like Switzerland in that equation!)

There is another side of me too and that side is married to the lovely, beautiful and inspiring Emma Youde who, like me comes from Clevedon. We have just had our first son Edward Arthur Neville Knott.
