The best things in life are not things.

About Me

I'm a no frills type of guy. I love the simple things in life. Some might call me shy. But once I get to talking, it's not easy to stop me. Down to earth and old school also could be used to describe me. The simplest things catch my attention because I believe that they add the most meaningful things to life. Music, sports, laughing, conversating and eating are my favorite things. But what I love to do the most is something that combines all these. That thing is worshiping the Father, Son and Spirit. Yes, you can worship even when you eat. When the mofongo has just the right amount of bacon and garlic, you gotta say, "Hay, santo. Halleluya. Que 'jeto, Papa". Well, I hope you're all as blessed as I am. Better yet, even more. If not, I pray that someday you'll discover eternal peace & joy. Peace, love and blessings. Catch up with you in the space.

My Interests

Listening to and playing music (especially with the Brunswick crew and TruDestiny), sports, shootin' the breeze, reminiscing with pictures/videos and eating.

I'd like to meet:

Among others...Billy Graham, Wynton Marsalis, Maya Angelou, Ravi Zaccharias, Crystal Lewis, Kirk Franklin, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Noam Chomski, Cornell West, Vico-C, Lauryn Hill, Fidel Castro, Maradona, Kaka and Barry Sanders.

Music:

Whatever's got a stone cold groove and is about building up, not bringing down. But in particular I love various forms of Latino/Carribean, Jazz and Rock.

Movies:

Some of my favorites are Do the Right Thing, Vertigo, Mar Adentro, Dead Poets Society, City of God, Shawshank Redemption, Sidestreets, Bread and Roses, Coffee and Cigarrettes, Born Into Brothels, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, Dumb and Dumber, Swingers, Coming to America and The Shining.

Television:

Shows no longer aired like Seinfeld, In Living Color, Everybody Loves Raymond, House of Buggin (if anyone knows where to get any episodes from House of Buggin, please let me know) and the older Saturday Night Live. I also enjoy watching documentaries, Discovery Channel and Conan O'Brien.

Books:

The Bible, When I Was Puertorican, No Longer Slaves, A People's History of the United States, Reading the Bible From the Margins and the Raggamuffin Gospel.

Heroes:

My mom, my dad, my sister, my brothers and my closest friends. Three of my friends literally saved my life on three different occassions. Thanks Pete, Alex and Israel.
