"The Women" started as a school project in the fall of 2000, with an ambicious goal to bring the world (Jämtland) joy with their own interpretation of the 60´s rock n´roll, and to play the annual spring prom the following year. With an amazing repertoire consisting of 15 songs or so, these five fine strapping young lads entered the stage of the spring prom and played for an impressing 3 hours. How they did it no one knows...Of course they couldn´t stop there. The boys realized that there were more places to play and more $$$ to be made. The rumour spread quickly around the world (Jämtland) and "The Women" got their well earned popularity they had always wished for. Soon they had played all the 50th anniversairy parties, weddings, bars, taverns, proms, casual tuesdays, ski resorts, TV stations, openings, company parties, dance venues and festivals there was to play. Well, atleast almost...Now, 6 years since the start in 2000, "The Women" are still ambicious to play and to keep the good ol´rock scene alive. You should think of "The Women" as a tribute band instead of your "everyday-average-local pub-status quo-playing-cover band". "The Women" salute the 60´s like no one else does.
