Darlene Hixson

A self-taught guitarist, Darlene is an artist who defies categorization with her fusion of musical styles; blending folk, blues, jazz and pop with her unique guitar finger work and innovative melodies.
Darlene was nominated for 'best female songwriter' and 'best produced album' at the Vancouver Island Music Awards 2003 for her debut album dangerously deep.

She has been a featured singer/songwriter at Nanaimo's Island Showcase, Cowichan Folk Guild's Songstress Songfest, ICA Munchtime Music, Northwest Folklife Festival, CFUV radio, NewVI, and Nanaimo's Song Circle.
