..I play fender jazz bass and double bass in different goups, live and in studios. I have played with various artists in sweden since 1968 in quite different styles. Jazz, rock, folk, country, easy listening, experimental, classical music. I have also played guitar in different groups during the years.
I have wrote some music for theaters, movies and other live performance in the past and for now I have some ideas cokin' in my pots (Mac-computers). I will publish some of them when I think of them as presentable.
TicoTico is a trio with acordeon, doublebass and percussion and plays latin/swing oriented music for all kind of occasions. The members in the band TicoTico are:
Ulf Bornstein accordeon and song,
Christer Olsson percussion and song,
Lars-Olof Nyström double bass and song.
Janne Taxén Band play blues, country and rock with fender instruments and drums. The band moustly play blues in trio setting with bass, guitar and drums, but sometimes we have a keyboardplayer with us. The musicians are Janne Taxén guitar and leadsong, Harald Svensson keyboard, Tomas Olsson drums and me, Lars-Olof Nyström on bass.
Sometime I also play with a coverband from Gothenborg, Look Out.
I was very young when I started to play. 1968 I became a fulltime member of the musicians union in Norrbotten, Sweden. We were mostly playing pop- and dance music in those days, but after 1970 I began to play some jazz.
1973 I quit my musical education at Framnäs in Piteå and moved to Malmö where I started to work with two theater groups; Bruksteatern and Oktober. And that is when the real touring began. I continued to play with Malmö as my ground with several other groups during the next three years and i made three full albums and some radio and television giggs during these years.
1976 I moved to Kungälv where I studied theather for one more year. Then I became a Gothenburg citicen which I still am to day. In Gothenburg I have played with Götateatern, back to Bruksteatern once more, and then Spotlight for several years. With Spotlight I have made a lot of touring with Alf Robertsson, Christina Lindberg, and a bunch of other artists in the swedish, commercial music life. I have also joined Folkteatern for 84 performances with full house with Annelie Ryde, Thomas von Brömsen among others.
From 1990 until now I have lived a family life with children and have studied at Gothenburg University until 2000 when I became a teacher at Angereds Gymnasium.
