About Me

Marcos Pieras was born in Puerto Rico in 1976. Being raised in a family who have a passionate love for music, he was introduced to the Latin sound at an early age. In 1986, Marcos moved to Atlanta where he developed an appreciation for different styles of music, including groups such as Depeche Mode, Front 242, The Orb, and Autechre. Today, Marcos combines his Latin roots with his passion for dance music, and has devoted his life to playing, producing, and promoting good music.-----Marco's dj career began in 1996. Quickly, his relentless determination and interest for music were recognized, making him one of the best known djs in Atlanta. After only a couple years of playing, Marcos was playing with acts such as Paul Van Dyk, Jerry Bohnam, and Judge Jules. In 1998, Marcos began working with the Atlanta branch of Satellite Records as a buyer, and was promoted to assistant manager a year later.----This exposure to the music industry became advantageous in 2000 when Marcos established one of Atlanta's most successful weeklys, Southern Comfort. This night allowed Marcos the freedom to play a unique style of house music that was not often heard in Atlanta. To help promote the night, he helped bring in a number of distinguished djs and producers from around the world to Atlanta. The artists include the infamous Evil Eddie Richards, Hakan Lidbo, Alexi Delano, Terry Lee Brown, Jr, Asad Rizvi, Jori Haulkenen, Rasoul, Pepe Braddock, Miguel Migs, Garth, and Chris Duckenfield. The success of this night along with a desire to promote house music around the world led to the development of a very successful record label, Soco Audio. Marcos was an integral part of the creation of Soco Audio but has since left the company to pursue his professional goals.----Currently, Marcos has joined PR Productions, a Latin & International entertainment group, who bring culturally diverse music to Atlanta. Overall, Marcos has distinguished himself as musician who plays it all. From Latin to House to Techno, he appreciates good music, regardless of its label. This diversity of sound combined with experimentation reflects his musical aesthetic and his desire to cross imaginary boundaries instilled within the music industry.
