About Me

The Baton Rouge Pride Fund, a Louisiana Nonprofit Corporation, strives to foster awareness, community, and a sense of Pride for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender persons, their supporters, friends, and families in the Greater Baton Rouge area. The Fund serves to showcase the culture of the GLBT community and to gather as a forum to promote acceptance through the implementation of educational yet entertaining programming. It is the goal of the Fund to establish a safe and welcoming environment, inclusive of the GLBT community and to promote tolerance and understanding of each other within our various groups and, in a broader sense, to the Greater Baton Rouge Metropolitan area. The Fund desires to create new paths, while leveraging the significance of historical events, to the betterment of the entire community exclusive of no one. Through the development of stronger community, the Fund will encourage more GLBT individuals and supporters to become involved in civic, artistic and community activities. This involvement will bolster visibility and foster public acceptance. To that end the Baton Rouge Pride Fund seeks to establish an annual GLBT Pride event.
