You can not imagine how frustrating is to have the own Nation imprisoned by others. In my case, my Nation is the Catalan Nation. And the spanish nation try to destroy mine. the spanish nation was created by castilla, and for their nation to be, they feel the need to destroy all de real Nations imprisoned. They try to assimilate Catalans, Basques, and Galizians. They closed the emissions of tv3 Catalan television in the Valencian Country (part of the Catalan Countries) because they're trying to separate Catalans from Principality of Catalonia and from Valencian Country. They changed the name from Valencian Country to spanish community of Valencia in another try to assimilate Catalan population. It's nearly impossible to find products labeled in Catalan, or DVD, or cinemas. (See my video in the left to check it in a funny way) You can find products in the supermarket labeled in Arabian, in Chinese or Portuguese but not in Catalan, only in spanish. Is very sad that the dictator franco, in the past century forced 3 millions of spaniards to come to Catalonia (we were 2 millions of Catalan then). The spaniards come to Catalonia to avoid dying of starvation, but they never learned the Catalan language cause it was forbidden. the dictator franco forgiven and prosecuted the use of Catalan, and the learning of the Catalan in the school, so this 3 million of spaniards never learned Catalan in a another failed try of the spanish leaders to destroy the Catalan Nation and Culture. I feel very sad because Catalonia is invaded by spaniards while spain still says that they forgive a referendum of Independence. WTF What kind of democracy is that?. They are trying now to inundate us with south american (spanish language) people, so I toke the decision to speak always in Catalan so they can learn it, and because it's my language and the language of my (occupied) Country. In the Principality of Catalonia we were 6 millions of persons ten years ago, but a milion and half of immigrants did come. Catalonia is the Nation that has received more immigrants in few time. And you can find a video of the king of spain saying that the spanish was never imposed to anyone, and that spanish has been a language of encounter. I couldn't say that this is a lie because if I do I could go to prison. Is the spanish law. spain is pain. You can find a lot of information about the impositions of the spanish language and the forbidden of other languages in spain: decretos de nueva planta, the primo de rivera dictatorship, the franco dictatorship.

The 11 of September is the National Day of Catalonia.
The 11 of September of 1714 the spanish and france armies invaded Barcelona, finished the Catalan freedom and started a dictatorship that still continues. As Catalan, I don't think as some European countries say "spain has a low quality democracy"; I simply think that spain is a dictatorship. I want the freedom of my Country, of my people, and a Catalan State that protects Catalan, our Culture, and our rights. As you could hear from many Catalans: I'm Catalan, I'm not spanish. We celebrate the 11 of September and we remember our heroes. Don't be confused if you see our celebrations in our National day, cause the 11 S was a terrible day for the States and for the entire World.
The Catalans around the world still fight for our Freedom.
We're peaceful, but everyone deserves Freedom.
spain takes all the money from the Catalan Countries to grow spain (except Catalan Countries of course). Catalan Countries are the only "regions" of spain that suffers fiscal deficit. We suffer a fiscal plundering, colonial economy, and they plunder from the Principality of Catalonia the 10,5 % of the PIB (interior brute product) what is simply not constitutional for an European country as Germany. spain plunders the 16-17% of the PIB in the Balear Islands.
spain is condemning the sons of Catalonia to poverty. Our competitiveness is dramatically injured, and young people can't emancipate. The small and medium companies cannot support the fiscal pressure and are closing.
Some serious studies bring information about the Catalan origins of Cristòfol Colom (Columbus) the discoverer of America. spanish gov. prefers to hide the Catalan origins of the discoverer because they have great interest in denying the history and rights of Catalonia and Catalns, and to hide the obscure, evil, and terrible felonies that the spaniards did and are still doing to my country: Catalonia and to my people: Catalans.
