On appearance its easy to be skeptical of the artists and what
they have to bring to the table. Without a doubt one listen
will leave heads wondering who they are, and where they came
from. The group is infamous for converting the most pessimistic
of minds into believers. Cal is an Emcee who stands out in a talent
pool of creative musicians in the city of L.A. He gained most of his
credibility as an emcee from his first album entitled "The Chase" In it he proclaimed Im just a simple kid from a simple town, ready to do
some simple hip-hop this description of himself is considered to be inaccurate, as some of Cals hip-hop is lyrically deep, and musically
complex. The Chase, was the first full length LP product under his own production. Cal's delivery in The Chase was impeccable; Cal controlled
the tracks with perfect timing and remained candid enough to hold the listener's attention and leave them wanting more. In June 2001, Cal was hospitalized after being struck down by a drunk driver and was in critical condition. After a long recovery, Cal was back with high spirits and
reunited with the music. His testimony of survival over odds and
adversity that few of us will ever face is capable of touching the lives
of all who hear it.
Buddy is a student and master of an underappreciated art form called
DJing; hes a hip hop DJ to the heart through and through. He compares everything in life to DJing. A priest speaks the truth while Buddy spins
it. You can catch him turning wax anywhere from a park to a club, and
those head phones are surgically attached to his head. He Dj's because
he is the lime light behind the lime light and doesn't want to take center stage, yet his mission in life is to change the world with creativity.
Dj Buddy amplifies the energy of live shows, his command over the
turn tables and the mixing board compliments Cals lyrical dominion
and proficiency of musical tempo. The overall quality of Cal logic. Still Remains released in 2003 is inspired by a true story. It is a work of
art that fools the listener into believing that theyre indulging in a
standard rap record with decent rhymes and dope beats, which is true
but Cal subtlety imbeds lessons of life and motivating thoughts that
have the power to change ones perspective and life in every song.
