About Me

I am a single mother, who is striving to become a woman of dignity and honor. I am having my second child in November. People question my desire to have this baby all of the time. I could not imagine anything else. I am a strong woman. I love my son more than life itself. He has had a tough time over the last year, he has gone through a lot of changes. I want to be there for him, so I strive to be the best mother I can be. I too have gone through a lot of changes. I hold down three jobs, and I go to school. I am also trying to put the pieces together after a messy divorce. Like I said, I am a strong woman, and I won't let anyone tell me differently. I have overcome a tremendous amount of adversity. Some people think I am crazy, I am definitly vocal. I won't let anyone push me around. I won't settle for anything less than I deserve. I did my fair share of that already. I dated a man without a job while I had three, NO MORE!!!! I am not a rebound woman, if you are just coming out of a relationship or a marriage, call me when you have had time to deal with your issues. Sloppy seconds ain't my style!!! My best friend is a fifty five year old woman, and my strentgh generates from my children. I want to go to Law School, and that is just around the corner, my dreams are so close, I can taste them!!!

My Interests

I spend most of my spare time with my child. I want to go to law school, and work at a non-profit firm. I want to advocate for the people who do not have a voice.

I was born and raised in the "D", so I grew up on a hip hop diet, I am still into hip hop primarily!!!

Movies:

Roger and Me, Resevoir Dogs, The Power of One, The Inconvienent Truth, Lord of the Rings (all Three), Shaka Zulu, Smoke Signals, Dirty Dancing("Nobody puts baby in the Corner!!"), Grease, The King and I (the older version), Little Mermaid, Annie, Natural Born Killers, Legally Blonde, Bring it on, High Fidelity, Grosse Pointe Blank, Suicide Kings, and last but not least Thomas the Tank Engine!!!

Television:

I am addicted to Sex in The City, I am most like Carrie, all over the place. I can be snobby like Charlotte, and I want Miranda's carreer. I can also be sexy like Samantha!!! I can relate to all of them, when it comes to looking for love in all the wrong places. I did not end up with my Mr. Big--Thank God!!!!

Books:

I love Russian literature. People are always shocked to find out that Fydor Doistoevsky is my favorite author. I like Tolstoy too. The aspiring attorney in me loves John Grisham. I want to be the street lawyer. Latley, my ONLY piece of reading material has been the LSAT review! Oh well, it'll all pay off in the end. 170 is the magic number--keep your fingers crossed!!!

Heroes:

Franklin Roosevelt, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Judge Wiiliam S. White(my grandfather), Dr. King, and all of the single mothers who do the best they can with what they've got.
