The New Jazz Ministry

About Me

The New Jazz Ministry formed 6 years ago in Lancaster, California with the addition of B.E. Nelson to the "Smooth Stones". By incorporatiing this gifted bassist into the group, came the funky urban sounds of Harlem and the robust Jazz/Rock flavor of the east coast. Melding the advanced improv skills of San Fancisco's legendary "freeform" Sax God, (Snakepit) Eddie Edwards, the two set out to create music that is expressive, mind expanding, captivating, and bumpin. Like Magellan meet Bartok, these two musical explorers laid out melodiously sonic soundscapes that capture the spontaneity and originality of Ornette Coleman, the spirituality of John Coletrane, with the elastic grooves of P-Funk. Check out their music from the fringes to the core, and hear how the "New Jazz Ministry" lay down their "Sermon of Sounds" to the masses.
