Bio of Clinton “C3” TripplettCEO/Producer/Songwriter/Engineer/Computer Technician of Black Lung Entertainment, was born Clinton Tripplett, but his industry name is “C3”. A couple of friends of his: Ryan “Sheff” Sheffield, Ollie “O.G.” Grayson, and himself had a common interest in hip-hop and a very strong belief in their ability to create music. From there bonding belief they created a name for a recording label they wanted to establish called Black Lung Entertainment. “C3” also noticed that everyone around our neighborhood said they were rappers but no one actually took the time to invest in a real home studio. So he took it upon himself to create a great “project” studio where his talented group of friends could come create some “magic” and help individuals like Lebron James, Ray Cash, and Avant put Cleveland back on the map. Clint “C3” Tripplett was born in Rockford, Illinois but shortly after his parents split up. So he and his mom moved to the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. Where he attended school at Aurora High School and graduated in 2003. He chose The University of Akron, to study psychology, and that’s where he met “O.G” and “Sheff” who were in the same dorm building as he was. It was there that they started to find their passion for music. It was shortly into our second semester when he decided to invest some money into the equipment that would start his studio. “C3” is heavy into production, it is his true passion. He found a good mentor and close friend to teach him some of the knowledge he needed to know to create his own beats. “C3” started and still continues to use Reason 3.0, along with Recycle 2.0 to create his own chopped samples. Nuendo 3.0 as the sequencing program and he later purchased a drum program called Battery 2.0 for a better engine to create his banging drum samples. His first piece of analog gear he recently bought was the Roland Fantom X6 keyboard, which he continues to tinker with to learn the ins and outs. The microphone used record his tracks on is an Audio-Technica AT3035. In 2006 Clinton “C3” Tripplett became a member of ASCAP. So far C3 has helped produce his hip-hop group, Black Lung (listen to the music @ www.myspace.com/blacklungent), also a pop group named LB and Styles, a gospel songstress named Lisa Hall, a conscious MC called Confidence, another rap artist named J-Phil, and is currently producing and managing his new artist Leon Smith aka Vietnam the Doughboy (checkout the music @ myspace.com/Vietnamthedoughboy). All the groups C3 helped produce have received a bit of radio play but nothing major. He continue to work on his sound and establish a buzz in the cities of Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus Ohio and now Atlanta, Georgia and its’ surrounding suburbs; until Black Lung Productions has the opportunity to be heard by the right people. “C3” knows as a producer he has a lot of raw talent and great potential but also knows he has a lot to learn. So he continues to work twenty-four hours, day in and day out, perfecting his craft in hopes to one day be as established as a Dr. Dre, Timberland, or Kanye West.
