Remixx began in the school halls of Warrensville Heights High School, a small surburb outside Cleveland, Ohio. Band director Sam Stevenson assembled the best male vocalist to perform in a school assembly and concert. Little did he know he was creating an R&B sensation that would span over ten years.Out of this event merged a bond, and an ongoing vibe that birthed the sound of Cleveland’s own Remixx. The members Emmett Foster Jr., Tenard Gaulden, Chris Jones, and Steven Jones are all extremely versatile, with the ability to lead or sing background. Each with their own style, tone and range, their blend of old school harmonies over new school beats is not often seen today. Reminiscent of
Boyz II Men, they stand out amongst the rest. In the summer of 2004 Budweiser held the Tru Music Live talent search at the Odeon complex in the flats of Downtown Cleveland. Many groups performed for the title, but when the smoke cleared Remixx was crowned Budweisers Tru Music artist of Cleveland,OH. For their hard work Remixx was honored in the 2004 edition of Complex Magazine for Budweiser’s hottest new group on the Tru Music roster.On September 23,2004 Remixx successfully released it’s first album, The Beginning in front of over five hundred screaming fans at the Underground Railroad, in Euclid, OH. Remixx proved that they belong in the music fraternity of today. Performing all over Cleveland, the group is a well known favorite, but the vibe does not cease there.There is a national global recognition as well. The beginning is being distributed online at CDBaby.com. Sales have been booming in the Netherlands, England, Germany, China, Japan and Switzerland. In the U.S. Remixx has taken form in Cleveland, Michigan, North Carolina and Las Vegas.In 2005 the group performed at several clubs in Las Vegas, NV. During their stay the group’s smash hit single Everyday Lover was featured on KCEP Power 88.1 FM, staying in rotation for several weeks. The Sterling, Imperial Palace, Tropicana ( T Fox Show), Club Boston and the world famous Bootleggers Lounge all got a taste of the Mixx.Remixx is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
