IN THE BEGINING
James (*Flames*) Williams was born in the 80's (80's Baby) in Williamston, NC, where he grew-up in tha Country of the Country middle of know where he self taught himself an eye for style.Growing up where his parents pass on what skills they learned in stiching things and patchtwork at an early age it was only right that "lil James " would takeova those skills.Even with his action figures he would design garments for them to wear.(Not Dolls, but action Figures) So somewhere down the line round the late 90's, 97 to be excact he tackled on one of his most challging task. He attempted to Embrodied his name "James Flames " on the pocket.One of the most time consuming roles in fashion where many others use a machine to do, he did it by hand.Fashion' Future at it's finest, he later finshed High School, takin the basic Clothing & Design, Art1, & 2 Classes, that help mold his skill, but now it was time 2take it to the next step. Flames specializes in hand painted abstract letters, air brushing letters, picture transfers, with rhinestones and sequins. Pictures can even transform comic book style pictures. There where many Schools of Fashion that wanted Flames to enroll in there school without even seeing one piece of his work, just the sound of determination in his voice and his fashion sense and know how had the Admissions Representative at a lost of words. JONHSON & WALES UNIVERSITY in North Miami FL, BAUDER COLLEGE in Atlanta GA, FIDM in Los Angeles CA, SAVANNAH COLLEGE of ART & DESIGN in GA,and AIU of LONDON, all wanted him, but Flames had some minor set backs that kinda push his hopes and dreams of a Fashion Designer on the back burner. Untill one day it clicked" FIND SOMETHING U LIKE & STICK WITH IT, DO WHAT U DO BEST, JUST MAKE MONEY DOING IT". Hearing things like this would make anyone reach for your goals, so that's what he did.
WHY DO IT & WHAT MAKES HIM FASHION FUTURE?
Flames never did it for the money he was already paid, he does it for the love of it, and the people who was behind him that wanted to see him do it, but Designing on the low for so long it was only a matter of time before the public notice this guy was not buying these styles like this, what he was doin haven't even been made yet.The boy been hot for too long, you got no choice but to feel it. The streets couldn't wait for him to go off to school and get a degree in fashion, they wanted it because it was hot.Need proof?????????? He did some shirts just to see how it would in a local store that sells top of the line urban clothes "BRICK CITY in GREENVILLE, NC", Next week the shirts sold out, and these were just samples. This later ended due to creative differences. Later moved on to better things, start doin it DIRTY SOUTH STYLE and started selling out the trunk, then later hooked-up with a rap group Semi-Legal. Flames later went on to complete a video, and did a shows and a Talent Showcases in Raleigh NC. Semi-Legal later went on to break-up and go seperate ways and left Flames once again on his grind. DREAMS 2LIFE ENT later heard of the great things that Flames was doing and had to see. Even NC'S well known producer 9th Wonder even spoke with Flames and told him to stay true to his art and be one-of-a-kind, after Flames agreed he gave him the green light to take it mainstream. Round the third qrt. of 07 His name even began to reach out in Queen City (Charlotte) where he was nominated for two awards in the first Queen City Muisc Awards. Not only is he doing some exxxcluisve work with anybody who is tryna get some work done in the NC, from muisc artist, models, dancers, actors and actress he is working on his own clothing line(CAROLIENTE' CLOTHING) that will put North Carolina in the driver seat of fashion, and shows that The Whole Carolina's got next!
