SHIMEON

Simon Peter Sutherland 'Shimeon' was born in Salford, in 1973. His mother a singer, and his father a preacher. Music, preaching and radio was very much a part of his upbringing as was the sound of vinyl albums, Harmonica's and Acoustic guitars.In 1985 at the age of 11 Simon first took to the stage, appearing and performing rutines. In 1991 Simon formed his first band, '22 Strings'. The band recieved minor, local critical aclaim as a live act. In 1995 '22 Strings' folded and Simon continued using the name. Simon also worked as a musician with Latin American acts both in the studio and performing live. But in 1997 Simon turned solo and re-designed his stage name to the Hebrew 'Shimeon' and wrote, Produced his un-official debut album, 'Behind The Soomer Sun'.Following certain life changing events, Shimeon became compelled to look more and more deeply upon the depths of eternity and mortality. Shimeon laid aside the music business and dedicted his life to God and spiritual foundations. This foundation inspired Shimeon to look even more deeply into theology and the Bible. Today, this unique blend of life, theology, love, human darkness and poetry can be heard throughout Shimeon's music.
