JOHN RAPTIS

I was born in Athens Greece on the 22nd of August 1969. At the age of 10 I played the recorder at school and started showing interest in music. My parents bought me my first guitar at the age of 13 and two years later I was playing with bands. I kept on playing rock and blues music till 1992 while at the same time I was recording my own music and built my own project recording studio.Since 1994 I teach, orchestrate and produce other people's music. From 1997 to 1999 I finished my music studies and formed a jazz-fusion band with Michael Evdemon on bass and Kostas Beveratos on the drums.My first album "Trip" was released in 2004 with Takis Paterelis on tenor sax, Ioanna Mitsoglou on drums, Michael Evdemon on bass and me on guitars.In the summer of 2005 Michael Evdemon meets Basilis Kalistridis who becomes our new drummer. After experimenting with some musical ideas for a couple of months we worked on my second album called "The Circle" released on January 2006 by "Soulincident". The band is playing live in jazz clubs in Greece for the time.John Raptis
