Dino Da Boy

About Me

REAL NIGGA STATUSBorn and raised in New Orleans, LA, Dino G is no stranger to music and culture. As a young boy he loved to go to parades during Mardi Gras to hear the sounds of brass horns, beating drums, and clashing symbols. As time progressed, Dino discovered that he had an awesome ability to write, winning state and national young author's awards before reaching his teens. Over the years he strengthened his skills as a writer through poetry and songs. Dino's little brother, (R.I.P. Paul-Jamal) was already pursuing his career as a rapper. Dino would sometimes write verses to feature on his brother's upcoming project. He soon after began rapping in the cafeteria at school and battling other kids from the neighborhood after school. Due to his local style of rapping and extended vocabulary, Dino G began to make a name for himself. In his sophmore year in high school Dino met his friend and future label mate, Skeet. Noticing exceptional skill and potential in Dino's flow, Skeet immediatly introduced him to Choppereezy, who was at the time working on his first album under the label Ninja Productions. The three began meeting after school, writing songs and recording in the studio. They then, accompanied by a fourth (Royal) formed the group N.O.C.S. (New Orleans City Soldiers). After learning the proper format for writing songs and understanding the creative power of the studio, Dino began writing songs daily. Realizing the hidden agenda of the C.E.O. of Ninja Productions, the group left the label in search of a better business opportunity. Their producer (GEORGE Da BRAINCHILD) left Ninja productions as well and linked up with an up and coming label by the name of Unity Records. He then introduced Choppereezy to the founder and C.E.O. of Unity. Establishing a moral and personal relationship with the owner of the label, the group decided to give it another shot (with the exception of Royal who joined the military). Dino dicovered his trademark style of rap while recording his feature verses on Choppereezy's album (which was the first up due to his experience and skill in the studio). He also learned that he had a passion for song writing while recording on Shantel's (the label's first lady and R&B act) album. Unity Records established itself as the next label to come out of New Orleans after Cash Money Records, dealing with some of the same people representing Universal Records. Unfortunately before any paperwork could be signed, the C.E.O. found himself in trouble with the law and unable to run the company, leaving Dino and his fellow label mates back at square one. After 2 years of college and getting into trouble with the law himself, Dino returned home. Linking up with Skeet and a couple of new artist, he found himself back in a four man group by the name of C4. By this time his skills as a solo artist were far more advanced than anyone had remembered. The group would meet up in the afternoon to write and rehearse which was a routine that Dino was all to familiar with. For personal reasons, Dino left the group and joined Red Band Records which was a label established in the neighborhood where he grew up. There he established himself as one of the best in the city. The C.E.O. of Red Band, (Marlon "Black" Turner) was arrested soon after Dino joined the label. While awating trial, Dino recorded his first solo project (DinoDaBoy) and began selling his mixtape around New Orleans and in other cities where music was a hot commodity such as Atlanta. On the other end, Skeet was still working on his career as well, teaming up with the members of C4 and a couple of friends with an equal amount of talent and ambition to form 360 Records. Knowing what Dino could bring to the table, Skeet convinced him to join in. Recording for both Red Band Records and 360 Records, Dino easily became a household name for mixtape fans throughout the city. Soon after creating a buzz, disaster struck. Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, washing away what the young artist had worked so hard to build. But that wouldn't discourage him. Immediately after the Hurricane, Dino wrote and recorded his second solo project, (Its All 4 The Luv), in Houston, Texas. He then Returned to Atlanta to promote and perform, attempting to regain his buzz. Shortly after returning to his new home in Houston, Dino decided to fall back from his music and promote his fellow Red Band member R.O.C. In the process of doing so the C.E.O. and good friend and brother to Dino, (Marlon "Black" Turner) was shot and killed, putting a hault to the carreers of both R.O.C. and Dino. Following the funeral, He went back to Atlanta to network and meet up with a few buisness partners to discuss the future of his carreer. Attempting to stay positive and optimistic, he returned to Houston to finish the project that began before the death of his friend. Still grieving over the loss of his C.E.O., Dino G, was given the news that his little brother (R.I.P. Paul-Jamal) had also been shot and killed. Once again returning home to pay respects, Dino found himself at a point where he didn't want to continue. After much prayer and meditation, Dino, who had by now been counted out as an artist, returned to Houston to write a dedication in memory of his brothers. He then decided to move to Dallas, TX, to forfill the promises made to his brothers. Linking up with key producers and recording what is said to be his best project yet, Dino is currently in Atlanta where its on and popping. His music is a mixture of both pain and pleasure as well as love and hate. He is the epitomy of perserverence and an excellent example of what an artist really is. He takes emotion and lifestyle and blends them with principle, purpose, and morality. Due to his pain and overall perception of life, Dino G is one of the greatest writers of our time and the most anticipated artist of your lifetime.ITS ALL 4 THE LUVLIVING LEGENDSHIT ME ON THE HOT LINE
